Burglary, Peeping Tom, Stolen Property

Stolen Property
11-12 January 2012
3900 block of Lasuen
Sometime during the day, two red colored metal porch chairs were stolen. These were reportedly quite heavy. This sounds like the same kind of grab and run tactic used by the people that stole the jogger stroller on October 11, 2011.

The description of that vehicle that stole the jogger stroller is of a dark green Dodge Caravan, CA license 3EMM316. At that sighting, there were 3 White male adults in their mid to late 30's in the van. It's worth keeping an eye out for it. if you see suspicious activity, call the police.

Peeping Tom or possible casing of a home for burglary
23 Jan 2012
Reported by a resident on the 2800 block of Ione St.

This morning around 9:00 AM I discovered fresh, muddy footprints on my porch leading directly from the porch steps to one of my large front windows. The tracks, which looked like about size 11 feet and belonging to a person with a long stride, went straight to the window and back off of the porch. This could have occurred anytime between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM. I am particularly alarmed because 1) I park in my garage and I can't imagine a person walking up to a house if they thought it was occupied and 2) one of my neighbor's rarely used vehicles was parked directly across the street, making me wonder if someone might be watching the area.

[Note: Burglars and robbers have been more brazen in recent weeks, doing daylight burglaries. Though we're not aware of any home invasion robberies in the area, this is not out of the realm of possibility. Imagine and prepare for the worst with regard to criminal acts.]

Daytime burglary
24 Jan 2012

Evidently the burglar(s) entered the backyard of the residence, through an unlocked gate and tried to gain entry through several windows after removing the screens. When this failed, they kicked in the rear door of the garage. A laptop and other easily transportable items were stolen.

Scavengers, potential burglars in Arden Manor

From a neighbor in the Arden Manor area:
This morning (01/19/2012) as I was preparing to depart from my home for the day at 4:15 a.m. I witnessed two white males looking into trash cans and shinning their flash lights into my neighbors windows. I got into my car and locked the doors and called the non-emergency number 874-5115, for the sheriffs office. They said they would dispatch a unit. I called back 3 hours later and spoke to Seargant Atkins he was awesome he said the unit detained 2 white males in their forties. First white male 6 feet tall medium to heavy set. No address so he is considered a transient. Second white male also in his 40's 6 feet 6 inches tall and heavy set, they had no outstanding warrants and were released. He told me that I should have called 911. So people be on the look out for these 2 sketchy characters.
Remember, if you see garbage scavengers, especially tomorrow morning during recycling pickup, call the police. If they're detained, they're very unlikely to return to our neighborhood.

Catalytic Converter Thefts investigated

Looks like we aren't the only neighborhood experiencing catalytic converter thefts. The good news is that police seem to be getting together and shutting down recyclers. If you can't fence your stolen cat, there's no reason to steal one:

Second Car Burglary Christmas Eve or Morning

I received a report today of a second car burglary Christmas Eve or early morning near the corner of Avalon and Maryal. The back door had been opened (the owner had locked it, but saw no signs of force used on the door) and the glove box was left open as well. Nothing was taken. The owner suspects the thief or thieves were interrupted by passing car and fled.

Suspicious Activity

We have a second hand report with sketchy details, but it's so important we're posting anyway.

In the afternoon on or about December 14th, within the Del Paso Elementary school grounds, a white male adult under 30 years old and wearing a baseball cap, long coat, and carrying a backpack, approached a group of boys saying that he wanted to show them something while reaching into his pack. The boys ran away, but this individual attempted to do it again. When an adult approached, the individual got into a silver Chevrolet sedan and left the area.

That's all the information we have, so be alert and warn your children.

Daylight Home Burglary

On Wednesday, December 28th between 9:00 AM, and 2: PM, a burglary of a residence in the mid 2500 block of Andrade occurred. A screen was cut to gain entry while no one was home. Some old, collectible coins and other items were stolen. A neighbor on the street, behind the victim's, stated that their dog was barking constantly at around 10:00 AM. The neighbor thought it was a squirrel, but there was no squirrel. the dog stopped shortly thereafter, and neighbor thought nothing further about it until hearing about the burglar.
This is the second residential burglary on the 2500 block of Andrade this month. The first, reported by the sac sheriff cyberwatch, happened on Dec 1. No details were available for that one.
