Future Home of the Del Paso Manor Neighborhood Watch

Hopefully, we can get enough people involved to stop vandalism and crime in the DPM area.

  2. Hi Shannon,

Since you live right by the school, maybe your husband can meet up with Andy and do a patrol or two. Your dog is big enough to scare people now. :)

I'll point him to this comment, maybe he has some ideas. We are still in the infancy stage of this Watch program.

  3. There hasn't been a tremendous amount of interest expressed yet in doing patrols, but I do think that's the key to cleaning up the school area.

I plan to go on a walk in the evenings at least twice a week. I should do that anyway. I would be carrying my cell phone anyway. The sheriff's nonemergency dispatch is in the phone already.

The more people willing to do this, the better. Going in groups is always safer than going alone, and more witnesses makes for easy conviction if we see criminal behavior.

For anyone interested in a bit of patrolling, e-mail me at DPMNeighborhoodWatch@gmail.com and we'll work out schedules. Even if we don't have people every night, random patrols are effective--when criminals don't know when they're safe to commit crimes, they tend to find a new place to commit them.
